Robyn Stewart Amarra is a trauma- and attachment-informed Marriage and Family Therapist with advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Brainspotting, and the DIR/Floortime® model. She works with children, adolescents, young adults, adults, couples, and families across the lifespan, offering a deeply relational and developmentally attuned approach to healing.

 

She holds a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Master’s Degree in Psychology with a concentration in behavior and lifespan development. With more than 20 years of experience supporting the neurodiverse community, Robyn brings a compassionate and nuanced understanding of emotional development, regulation, sensory and relational needs, and the ways early experiences shape present-day patterns

Her extensive work within the neurodiverse community includes advanced understanding and clinical experience supporting individuals with Autism, ADHD, anxiety disorders, OCD, mood disorders, and Tourette syndrome. She integrates developmentally responsive, strengths-based, and evidence-informed approaches, including Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP/ERPT) and Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT), thoughtfully tailored within a trauma-informed and relational framework.

Her clinical background includes advanced certification in the DIR/Floortime® model, specialized trauma and attachment-based training through ATTACh, child-centered play therapy, parent coaching, family systems work, and Brainspotting. Her work is grounded in the understanding that behaviors, defenses, and emotional responses often emerge as adaptive strategies shaped by developmental, relational, neurobiological, and traumatic experiences.

Through curiosity, collaboration, and compassionate exploration, therapy becomes a space where clients can better understand long-standing patterns, reconnect with their inner resources, and move toward lasting emotional and relational change.

At Integrated Psychiatric Services (IPS), Robyn serves as a vital member of a collaborative multidisciplinary care team. Her work includes providing attachment-based and trauma-informed psychotherapy that aligns with psychiatric treatment planning, supporting continuity of care through close collaboration with psychiatrists and nurse practitioners, and helping clients navigate relational, developmental, and emotional challenges with depth and sensitivity.

 

Outside of her clinical work, Robyn values lifelong learning, time in nature, and moments of grounded presence. She enjoys being outdoors, embracing spontaneity, and remaining deeply curious about the human experience.
