Whitney Poppell, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Whitney is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC). She graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Valdosta State University and went on to obtain her Master’s Degree in Nursing from Regis College.

Since starting her nursing career in 2015, Whitney has worked with patients across the lifespan. She first started as a Registered Nurse in a Cardiac Intensive Care Unit caring for adult patients. She spent the majority of her time as a Registered Nurse at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, where she worked in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. While working as a nurse, Whitney realized that her patient’s mental health was just as important as their physical health. Whitney realized there was a great need for mental health providers and decided to transition into the field of psychiatry. She is passionate about providing high quality mental health care for all of her patients and believes in equality of care across all populations.

Whitney is an avid traveler and has had the opportunity to visit many places around the world. She enjoys visiting National Parks, hiking, rock climbing, attending concerts, and spending quality time with her friends and family. She spends much of her free time with her soon-to-be husband and two cats.
