Dr. Brittany Friend is a board-certified psychiatrist with specialized training in child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry. She offers compassionate, developmentally informed care for individuals, with a particular passion for supporting youth and families through periods of change, challenge, and growth. At Integrated Psychiatric Services (IPS), Dr. Friend serves as both a physician and a leader in collaborative, multidisciplinary care—helping shape a model that bridges deep expertise with human connection.
Dr. Friend earned her medical degree from the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine after completing her undergraduate studies at Washington University in St. Louis. She then trained in general psychiatry and completed her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine, where she honed her skills in working with complex cases involving co-occurring psychiatric, developmental, and medical concerns.
Her early work as an AmeriCorps City Year member in underserved schools planted the seeds for a career grounded in equity, empathy, and social responsibility. These values remain central to her practice at IPS, where she delivers:
Comprehensive diagnostic evaluations
Medication management and supportive psychotherapy
Specialized care for children, adolescents, and transition-age youth
College mental health and emerging adulthood challenges
At IPS, Dr. Friend thrives in a system that encourages thoughtful integration—where psychiatrists, therapists, and nurse practitioners come together to offer holistic, consistent care.
By working within IPS’s collaborative model, Dr. Friend is able to offer care that goes beyond symptom management. She helps her patients build resilience, strengthen identity, and rediscover agency—one relationship at a time.
