Brittany Friend MD
Dr. Friend is a psychiatrist who is passionate about mental health treatment. She is board certified in both general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. Dr. Friend completed undergraduate school at Washington University in St. Louis. She then moved to Florida where she completed medical school at University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa, FL. Following medical school, she completed both general psychiatry residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, GA.
Dr. Friend chose the field of psychiatry because she is passionate about mental healthcare and feels that good quality care helps to give people their lives back. She enjoys working with kids and has a passion for adolescent age specifically. Prior to medical school, she completed and Americorps program called City Year that provided educational support services to kids at under resourced schools where she fell in love with the young adolescent population.
Dr. Friend has experience in mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, substance abuse, eating disorders, college mental health, individual and family based psychotherapy, trauma and related disorders, and ADHD. She has also worked with specialty populations including developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and children with complex medical illnesses.
